The qualification, the timeframe, and what the work pays. If a number changes, we change it.

Certificate III in Plumbing, as an apprenticeship

That is what most Brisbane employers ask for. It takes 4 years, paid throughout depending on the provider and how you study.

Paid from the first day and the qualification is included. Queensland requires a separate licence to work unsupervised.

What it is like here

Brisbane specifically

Most Brisbane plumbing work is domestic maintenance and new residential. The licensing step after the apprenticeship catches people out, so ask about it early.

Before you enrol

Three things worth asking

  • Ask whether they do domestic, commercial or both, because the work is different.
  • Ask what support they give with the licence application at the end.
  • Ask whether you will get gas fitting experience, since it pays more.

We will ask all of that for you. Start with the free check.
