Brisbane specifically

The hiring runs on the school calendar. Most positions are advertised in November for a January start, and again briefly at the start of Term 3. Applying in the middle of a term rarely works.

  • Ask when their intakes run, because the hiring cycle is set by the school calendar.
  • Ask whether the placement can be at a school you already have a connection with.
  • Ask whether they cover special needs support, since that is where most of the work is.
